Nsoatreman FC midfielder, Abdul Manaf Umar attributes the club's FA Cup victory to a strong collective effort from his teammates.
The Nsoatre-based team secured the trophy after a tense 5-4 penalty shootout win over Bofoakwa Tano, following a 1-1 draw over 120 minutes on Sunday, June 23.
This win at the University of Ghana Stadium marks the first time the club has claimed the domestic cup since its founding.
Manaf, a key player for Maxwell Konadu's squad during the 2023/24 season, praised his teammates for their exceptional performance.
"We are so excited. It was a difficult game, but we played hard, worked hard, and played as a team, which led to this result," he told Joy Sports.
As a result of their MTN FA Cup triumph, Nsoatreman will also have the opportunity to represent Ghana in next season's CAF Confederation Cup.
Manaf mentioned that the team will take a well-deserved rest before focusing on their preparations for the African competition.
"For now, we need to rest before we start training again, and we'll continue from there," he said.
