Asante Kotoko coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum has highlighted the club's intent to recruit high-caliber players with Premier League experience ahead of the upcoming season.
Following extensive discussions with the squad over two days, the club has opted to release as many as 18 players, with further departures anticipated in the coming days. This decision forms part of a substantial rebuilding effort aimed at revitalizing the Porcupine Warriors before the new season.
Speaking in a post-season interview with the Asante Kotoko media team, Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum emphasized a strategic shift in recruitment, ruling out players from lower divisions.
"We need to implement significant changes in our squad structure by signing players to bolster our ranks. This time, we are targeting players who have proven themselves in the Premier League," Ogum stated.
He stressed the urgency of acting swiftly in the transfer market to secure the necessary additions to strengthen the team.
"It's crucial that we move quickly to ensure we secure our targets as early as possible," Ogum added.
