Former Ghana coach, James Kwesi Appiah, now serving as the technical director for Asante Kotoko, credits his team's stellar performance in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers to the dedication of his players.

Under Appiah's guidance, the Falcons of Jediane secured three victories and a draw, culminating in a convincing 3-0 away triumph against South Sudan in their latest match.

This impressive run has propelled them to the top of Group B with 10 points, leading the 2021 African champions, Senegal, by two points.

In an interview with sports journalist Collins Okinyo, Appiah praised his players' adaptability, stating, "Whatever I try to show them, they are able to adopt easily. The players are doing very well; they are committed."

He also highlighted the importance of scouting opponents, saying, "I let them know their strong and weak areas, and so far, so good."

Looking ahead, Sudan faces Senegal in their next qualifier, aiming to solidify their position at the top of the group.
