FEB 27, 2024 LISTEN

Nora Hauptle has expressed confidence in the Ghana Black Queens' ability to turn the tables against Zambia and progress to the next round of the 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers.

Ghana must overcome a first-leg deficit after losing 1-0 to the Copper Queens in Accra. Racheal Kundananji's spectacular goal was the difference-maker in the first encounter.

Despite the defeat, Hauptle highlighted the positives from their performance and emphasized that the statistics were in their favour. Hauptle's team has already travelled to Ndola, where the second leg will take place on February 28th.

She said, "We lost the game 1-0 in Accra, but we had a good performance on the pitch. When you look at the statistics, they were all on our side and we deserved that."

She added, "I hope it will be a good football game tomorrow evening for us. We also have some plans for tomorrow, and it’s our approach to stabilizing the game. We need to score, and we are aware of that."

The Black Queens are focused on playing a balanced game and have plans in place to ensure they make the most of the return leg.

The team has had a warm reception in Zambia, with Hauptle praising the country's beauty and the friendliness of its people.
