Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of Ghana, has expressed optimism about the future of the Black Stars, the national football team. Despite recent struggles, he firmly believes the team can return to its former glory.

In their latest performances, the Black Stars have fallen short. They failed to win any matches and were eliminated in the group stages of the last two Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments held in Cameroon and Ivory Coast.

Additionally, in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, they exited the tournament in the group phase after losing all their matches.

However, in his recent State of the Nation address, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo remained optimistic about the Black Stars' prospects.

He expressed confidence that with the right actions taken, the team will once again rise and bring pride to the nation.

"I have no doubt that the Black Stars will rise up and make us proud again," he said.

The Black Stars are scheduled to resume their 2026 World Cup qualifiers with a doubleheader against Mali in June, marking their return to international action.
