Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku has applauded the Black Queens for securing qualification to compete at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament.
The Queens are back from South Africa where the second leg of the game against Namibia in the final round of the qualifiers was staged on Tuesday.
Although Ghana lost by a goal to nil, the Black Queens qualified for next year’s WAFCON with a 3-2 aggregate win.
Ahead of the tournament, GFA capo Kurt Okraku wants the Black Queens to give the rest of Africa a showdown.
“We have been to the WAFCON before even though this is a milestone because in five years we have not been there, qualifying alone is not enough.
"This is the time for us to give the rest of Africa a showdown,” Kurt Okraku said.
The GFA boss continued, “Our best position at the AFCON has been second place years ago but we have enough quality in this team to be African champions, he added.
“Whatever it takes for us to get you prepared for the AFCON in Morocco with the support of Asantewaa the fearless we will make sure this team is ready.
The 2024 WAFCON is scheduled to be hosted in Morocco.
