The Black Queens of Ghana are through to the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The women’s national team of Ghana today, locked horns with their counterparts from Namibia in the last game of the qualifiers.
Before today, Ghana had secured a 3-1 win from the first leg in a game played at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In the difficult second-leg game today, Ghana lost by a goal to Namibia at the end of the 90 minutes of the contest.
Courtesy of a 3-2 aggregate win, the Black Queens of Ghana are through the 2024 WAFCON.
This is the first time the Black Queens have qualified for the tournament in the last five years.
The Black Queens failed to qualify for the last two editions of the tournament.
Coach Nora Hauptle and her Queens must now prepare for the continental showdown in Morocco next year.
