Aduana Stars' head coach, Yaw Acheampong has expressed his satisfaction after his team secured victory against Hearts of Oak at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Sunday.
The match, which unfolded on matchday 13 of the premier league, saw Bright Adjei's deflected free-kick in the 65th minute become the decisive moment, beating Hearts of Oak's goalkeeper, Ayi.
In a post-match interview with StarTimes, Coach Acheampong shared his perspective on the win.
He said, "I wasn’t shocked. As I said earlier, I know if we keep to our game plan, we will have the day and I am happy we have the day.
“I think we’ve lost two in a row and it’s not good to lose three. So, it’s very important to us, and I am happy we have the day."
The victory solidified Aduana Stars' position at the top of the league standings with 24 points, although goal difference plays a role.
Looking ahead, Aduana Stars will be traveling to Abrankese for their next game, facing top-flight debutants in what promises to be another challenging encounter.
