The head coach of the Black Queens, Nora Hauptle is upbeat ahead of Ghana’s game against Rwanda on Wednesday, September 20.
Ghana’s senior women’s national team will lock horns with Rwanda tomorrow in the first leg of the tie in the 2024 African Women's Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers.
Speaking ahead of the game, Coach Nora Hauptle said her Black Queens are optimistic about securing a win from home.
“We (technical team) were bringing the focus on the tactical operatives and getting use to the Astro turf. We always play on the natural grass but we like it because we are a possession team and we like to dominate the game always.
“For tomorrow we need to be smart in our decision making on the pitch with the new regulations. We are only allowed to bring 18 players with three substitutes. So it’s about who is ready and in the championship rhythm,” Coach Nora Hauptle said.
The Black Queens coach continued, “Those criteria are quite important to bring the squad on the pitch so we have some important substitutes on the bench so they can bring.
“We are pretty convinced that we going to win the game tomorrow with the good mood and focus in camp.”
The clash between Rwanda and Ghana tomorrow will be played at the Kigali Pele Stadium in Rwanda at 13:00GMT.
