Medeama SC defender, Kofi Asmah says he has learnt a lot of valuable lessons playing alongside his former colleague, Vincent Atinaga.
Atinga left the Mauve and Yellow after deciding against renewing his expired contract with the two-time FA Cup winners.
Asmah, who is making a debut in continental football, has partnered with both Atinga and Adulai Nurudeen at the heart of central defence and he believes his time with Atinga has helped him sharpen his rough edges.
Kofi Asmah said: “You learn from those who know how to play the game so what he taught me has helped shape my career.
“That is what has helped partner Nurudeen Abdulai because he [Vincent Atinga] has partnered with me and Nurudeen and their partnership is the style we also implemented against Horoya,” Kofi Asmah said.
Asmah was an integral member of Medeama SC's side that defeated AC Horoya 3-1 in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.
