Jordan Ayew makes history after scoring in Black Stars 3-1 win over Liberia

Jordan Ayew reached a milestone in Ghana’s 3-1 win over Liberia earlier today in an international friendly game at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Crystal Palace striker made his 92^nd appearance for the Black Stars and scored in the win to become the fourth most-capped Black Stars player in history.

The 32-year-old made his 91^st appearance to tie John Paintsil’s record in Ghana’s 2-1 win over Central African Republic in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier last week at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Ayew was introduced in the 61^st minute as a replacement for fellow goal scorer Ernest Nuamah and scored in the 82^nd minute to put Ghana up 3-0. Ghana however ended the game 3-1.

The win caps a brilliant week for Jordan Ayew who helped Ghana qualify to the AFCON for the 10^th consecutive time and celebrated his 32^nd birthday.

Jordan is in line to feature in Palace’s English Premier League game against Aston Villa on Saturday, September 16 after starting the season on a strong note with three assists in five games.
