THE Premier League encounter between Kpando Heart of Lions and Kumasi Asante Kotoko at Kpando last Wednesday produced a casualty involving one Eric Gyamfi alleged to be a Kotoko fan.
He however said the police could not talk to the players involved as the team was said to have then moved to a secret camp to prepare for the match.
Gyamfi is presently in Police protective custody in Kpando for allegedly bribing some key players of Lions.
Lions had beaten Kotoko 1-0 in their first leg encounter at Konongo, thus setting the tone for a high pitched encounter at Kpando which ended in 1-1 draw.
Mr. William Akpesey, Police Superintendent in charge of the Kpando District Police told the GNA Sports last Wednesday, that William Akwensi, welfare officer of Heart of Lions, brought Gyamfi to the Police station last Tuesday.
He said Akwensi told the police that Gyamfi was arrested while trying to bribe some players of Lions including the captain, Yussif Issah 'to play it soft with Kotoko in Wednesday’s match'.
Mr. Akpesey said an amount of ¢3.9 million was found on Gyamfi.
