Ghana's Black Starlets maintained their winning ways in their ongoing training tour of Egypt by defeating Al-Ahly's U-21 side 3-1 in Cairo yesterday.
Starlets head coach, Fred Osam-Duodu, who relayed the report to the Daily Graphic on phone yesterday said the heavy defeat suffered by the youth side of the Egyptian giants was received with shock by Egyptians.
Top marksman, Nathaniel Asamoah, scored two of the goals, while Ransford Osei fetched the other to complete the rout.
He said yesterday's victory was as significant as an earlier 2-0 defeat over the junior side of another crack Egyptian team, ENPPI.
The Starlets, who have won all five matches so far played in Egypt, are expected to play three more games before rounding off their preparations on March 1.
While assistant coach, Emmanuel Quarshie, remains with the team in Egypt, Coach Osam-Duodu was expected home yesterday alongside seven players who might not make it to the Africa Championship in Togo from March 10 to 24.
Coach Osam-Duodu is expected to leave Accra for Barcelona this week together with Nathaniel Asamoah and Sadick Adams for the Africa All-Star XI versus Europe affair on February 27 and March 1.
Meanwhile, UK-based Kelvin Owusu Bossman and Ashantigold's Daniel Opare are expected to join their colleagues in Egypt today and tomorrow respectively.
