Hearts of Oak's interim head coach, David Ocloo, has called on the club's fans to consider the fact that he inherited a depleted team before criticizing him for recent poor performances.

Following their fourth consecutive defeat and a disappointing run of just one win in their last seven matches, there has been unrest among the Hearts of Oak faithfuls.

The team's latest setback came in a 1-2 loss against RTU during the last but one round of matches at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The match saw Linda Mtange open the scoring for Hearts in the first half, only to be equalized by Abdul Manaf Umar shortly after halftime.

Stephen Badu Dankwah then secured the victory for RTU with his goal, leaving the Phobians in a precarious position.

With the defeat, Hearts of Oak finds itself dangerously close to the relegation zone. To avoid being relegated, they must win their final match against Berekum Chelsea.

Acknowledging the frustration and anger of the fans, Coach Ocloo reminded them of the circumstances of the team when he too over.

He emphasized that the current squad was already depleted when he assumed his role, and thus urged the fans to be mindful of their words when expressing their discontent.

"They have every right to be furious and express their opinions. However, it's important for them to remember that I inherited a depleted side, so they should choose their words wisely," Ocloo stated in an interview with StarTimes after the match.
