Board member of Hearts of Oak, Alhaji Akambi has accused the media of being the reason for the club's poor campaign in the ongoing 2022/23 football season.

The Phobians will end the campaign trophyless. The Rainbow Club exited the FA Cup following a defeat against Dreams FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.

With two games to end the season, Hearts of Oak sit 8th on the pile with 45 points.

Speaking in an interview, expressed his anger and accused the media of spreading false news about the club.

“The media are responsible for the bad state of Accra Hearts of Oak. They allow anybody to spew rubbish, lies, and unsubstantiated stories about the club on the airwaves,” Akambi told Accra-based Onua FM.

Akambi further threatened to take legal action against anybody who spoke ill of the club without any facts.

“We will start taking action against anybody who sits on air to spew lies about the Accra Hearts of Oak,” he said.

Hearts of Oak will host Real Tamale United in the matchday 33 games on Sunday before wrapping up their campaign with an away game against Berekum Chelsea.
