It will exciting playing Europa League next season - Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey

Brighton and Hove Albion defender, Tariq Lamptey says he is excited about the opportunity to play in the Europa League next season.

The Seagulls for the first time under Roberto de Zerbi finished 6th with 62 points which means Brighton will play in Europe next season.

According to Lamptey, he and his teammates are looking forward to testing themselves on a bigger stage.

“We’ve had a really good season the boys have done fantastic throughout the season and we’ve worked very hard through different challenges that we’ve had,” he told Citi Sports.

“We just trying to buy into what the gaffer has to say and I think you’ve seen the results on the pitch now we are playing in Europe for the first time in the club's history next season in the Europa League so it should be amazing and I think we’re all looking forward to it,” he added.

Lamptey made a total of 23 appearances in all competitions with a goal to his credit for the club until his injury against West Ham.

He made his debut appearance for Ghana on 23 September in a 3–0 friendly loss against Brazil at the Stade Océane in Le Havre.

Lamptey was also a member of Ghana’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
