I am working to return to full fitness - Ghana defender Tariq Lamptey

Ghana and Brighton defender, Tariq Lamptey says he is working to return to full fitness.

The 22-year-old has been out of action after suffering an injury against West United in March.

The injury kept Lamptey out for the rest of the season.

According to him, he suffered a small injury towards the end of the 2022/23 English Premier League season but he is now working to regain full fitness.

“Towards the end of the season, I suffered something (of a) small (injury), but I am working hard on recovery to be back soon," he told Citi FM.

“I just have to just keep working hard and it’s nothing too serious,” Tariq Lamptey said.

The Ghana full-back played only played 23 in all competitions for Brighton & Hove Albion.

He is expected to miss the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification match between Madagascar and Ghana in June due to the injury.
