Kumasi Asante Kotoko have made a high profile technical appointment as former national under-17 coach, Bashiru Hayford joins the club's bench.

Bashiru Hayford, now becomes the assistant coach to Turkish manager, Telat Uzum for the rest of the season.

The technical changes has seen Johnny Oduro, former assistant to Uzum return to the club"s youth ranks, which club officials say would be reconstituted.

Bashiru Hayford's appointment is expected to add some valuable touch to the club's bench.

The coach who started the season's premiership campaign with Power FC lost his role with the club due to what officials of the premier side said was a lack of commitment on the part of Bashiru Hayford.

He subsequently lost his national job after a CAF eight-game ban ruled him out of managing Ghana's Black Starlets for the African U-17 Championship.

However the past week presented Hayford with another opportunity to get into club duties after he was contracted by Asante Kotoko to join their technical set up.

The former national coach's Porcupine debut however started on a wrong footing as Asante Kotoko lost 0-1 to AshantiGold on Sunday at the Len Clay stadium.
