An impressive display from Legon Cities FC has seen the side drawing 1-1 with Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League on Thursday.

The Royals today hosted the Porcupine Warriors at the El Wak Stadium in a Week 24 encounter of the 2022/23 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.

In a contest that both teams needed to win for different reasons, Asante Kotoko scored the first goal in the 18th minute when the team was awarded a penalty kick.

Captain and midfielder Richard Boadu accepted the responsibility from 12 yards and equalised from the spot to give the visitors the lead.

Although Legon Cities FC will attempt to score to get back into the game before the break, the team could not succeed.

Later in the second half, a spirited effort by the team paid off in the 70th minute. Attacker Alex Aso found the back of the Asante Kotoko net with an impressive header to restore parity for the hosts.

After neither side managed to score in the remaining 20 minutes, the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

The draw leaves Asante Kotoko out of the top four while Legon Cities FC keep their heads above the relegation zone.
