Ghana international, Joseph Wollacott has been injured in training ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualification match against Angola.

Later this week, the Black Stars will welcome their counterpart from Angola in a Round 3 encounter in Group E of the qualifiers for the 2023 AFCON tournament.

Joseph Wollacott, 26, is one of 25 players invited by Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton for this round of AFCON qualifiers in the international break.

On Tuesday, March 21, the Charlton Athletic goalkeeper started training with his Black Stars teammates but could not finish.

He suffered an injury after the goalpost fell on him.

He stayed down on the turf for a while and received some medical attention. While the extent of the injury is immediately unknown, reports suggest he might not be ready in time for the Ghana v Angola game.

That game is scheduled to be played on Thursday, March 23. The match will kick off at 16:00gmt at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
