Asante Kotoko have moved to second on the Ghana Premier League standings following a heavy 4-0 victory against Accra Lions on Monday night.
The Porcupine Warriors today hosted the team from Accra at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in a Week 16 encounter of the ongoing 2022/23 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.
In the game today, Asante Kotoko needed just 24 minutes to break the deadlock. New signing Rashid Nortey finished off a good team move to give the reds the lead.
Just four minutes later, Cameroonian striker Steven Mukwala scored with a delightful curling effort to double the lead for the home team before the lead.
Later in the second half, Steven Mukwala scored again to complete a stunning brace. Thanks to an additional goal from left-footed winger Enoch Morisson in the 57th minute, Asante Kotoko cruised to a 4-0 win at the end of the 90 minutes.
The win today has propelled the reds back to second position on the Ghana Premier League standings.
Meanwhile, Accra Lions are now fourth on the league log.
