Ghana attacker Joseph Paintsil was at his best again on Sunday evening and played a key to help KRC Genk to come from behind to beat KAA Gent 3-2 in the Belgian Pro League.

The talented winger has been in outstanding form since the 2022/23 football season commenced.

With club top-scorer Paul Onuachu transferred to Southampton, Joseph Paintsil has accepted responsibility and has already scored in three consecutive games before today.

Today, the Ghana star was in the starting eleven of KRC Genk when the team played as a guest to KAA Gent.

In the 9th minute of the first half, Hong Hyunseok equalised to give the hosts a deserved lead after a good start to the game.

However, after failing to tame unstoppable Joseph Paintsil, the Black Stars winger punished Gent.

He rounded off the Gent goalkeeper and fired a low shot through the legs of the last defender to restore parity to the game.

The winger went on to play 84 minutes of the five-goal thriller and bowed out of the game with a rating of 7.6

In Sunday’s game, Yira Sor and Tolu Arokodare scored the two other goals for KRC Genk before Laurent Depoitre netted the second consolation goal for Gent.

With his goal today, Joseph Paintsil now has 10 goals in the Belgian Pro League. He has also provided 10 assists in the 20 appearances he has made for KRC Genk in the division.
