Match Report: Accra Lions see off Great Olympics with a 3-0 win after impressive showing

Accra Lions put up an impressive performance on Thursday afternoon to thump Great Olympics 3-0 in the Ghana Premier League.

The two capital-based clubs today locked horns in a Week 15 encounter of the 2022/23 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.

In a game played at the Accra Sports Stadium, Accra Lions made light work of the opponent as the away team struggled to defend.

Before the first half, the hosts had scored twice already to take a comfortable lead. First, Abass Samari Salifu found the back of the Great Olympics net to give Accra Lions the lead in the 27^th minute.

Later in the 41^st minute, a Jacob Amu Mensah strike doubled the lead for the home team before the halftime break.

After recess, Accra Lions needed just six minutes to put the game to bed. Jacob Amu Mensah netted his second of the afternoon to bag a brace while sealing a delightful 3-0 win for his team to amass the three crucial points.

Courtesy of today’s win, Accra Lions are now back in second on the Ghana Premier League table. Meanwhile, Great Olympics occupy the 7^th spot on the log.
