The Chief Executive of AFC Bournemouth, Neill Blake has reacted to the signing of Ghana striker Antoine Semenyo.

According to him, the English Premier League outfit is elated that it has been able to sign the talented youngster from Bristol City.

This he explains is largely because he is aware several other clubs expressed interest in Antoine Semenyo but he chose to sign for AFC Bournemouth instead.

"Antoine is an exciting player and one we have monitored for a while.

"He had interest from elsewhere and so we're delighted to welcome him to the club,” AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said as quoted on the club’s website.

The English Premier League outfit reached a deal with Bristol City to sign Antoine Semenyo on Thursday.

Today after the player passed a mandatory medical examination, the club officially unveiled the new signing after he put pen to paper to ink a four-and-a-half-year deal.

“AFC Bournemouth have completed the signing of Ghanaian international Antoine Semenyo from Bristol City.

“The forward joins on a four-and-a-half-year deal, with the club retaining an option of a further year,” AFC Bournemouth said in an official statement on Friday.

The club statement added, “He becomes the third signing of the January transfer window for the Cherries, following the arrivals of Dango Ouattara and Darren Randolph.”

Antoine Semenyo, 23, has been signed by AFC Bournemouth to bolster the team’s attack, especially in the remainder of the 2022/23 English Premier League season.

The club will hope that he will continue his impressive goal-scoring record to help the side to escape relegation at the end of the season.
