The Sudanese Football Association are in advanced talks with Kwesi Appiah to take up the role as the head coach of the national team.

Appiah, 63, is currently unattached after leaving his role as the head coach of the Black Stars in 2019.

The Asante Kotoko legend led the team to the Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] in Egypt where the team exited at the Round of 16.

Appiah in his recent interview with Kumasi-based Sompa FM revealed that he has applied for the vacant Black Stars coaching job.

However, Oyerepa FM have reported that Sudan are in advanced talks with Appiah to take up the national team job.

Appiah worked with Al Khartoum of Sudan before his second return to the Black Stars as the head coach.

He is famously remembered for steering the Black Stars to secure qualification for the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil where the team exited at the group phase.
