Brazil are into the last eight stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup after seeing off South Korea with a thumping 4-1 win on Monday night.

The Brazilians locked horns with their South Korean counterpart in one of the two Round of 16 games staged on the matchday.

In a game that would produce five goals, Brazil got the better of the opponent after displaying ruthlessness in front of the goal in the first 45 minutes.

Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jnr started the scoring with a fine effort in the 7th minute to give Brazil the lead.

Just five minutes later, poster boy Neymar Jnr had the chance to score from 12 yards.

The PSG star did not make a mistake from the spot and equalised to double the lead for Brazil.

With Brazil in full control of the match, South Korea struggled to defend and conceded two more goals before the break.

The goals from Richarlison and Lucas Paqueta in the 29th and 36th minutes respectively handed Brazil a big 4-0 lead at halftime.

After recess, South Korea came in strong but it was too late for a comeback. The side however managed to net a consolation goal through Seung-Ho Paik in the 76th minute.

Courtesy of the victory, Brazil have set up a mouth-watering date with Croatia.

On Tuesday, the remaining two games in the Round of 16 will be cleared. Portugal will come up against Switzerland while Spain takes on Morocco.

The only remaining African representatives will aim to upset the free-scoring Spaniards to advance to the quarter-finals.
