Deputy Captain for the Black Stars of Ghana, Thomas Teye Partey has commented on the team’s premature elimination from the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Arsenal midfielder said the outcome of their group-stage games wasn’t what the team expected.

The 29-year-old stated that they planned to give Ghanaians results that would make them happy.

In a post on his Facebook page on Monday, December 5, the Gunners star assured that the team will come back stronger than ever.

“It was our biggest wish to give Ghanaians something to cheer about but unfortunately it didn’t go as we wanted,” Partey said.

“I want to say a huge thank you for the unconditional support from home and across the world.

“With the support of God we will come back stronger,” he ended his post.

Especially about their last game, what the entire Ghanaian nation saw as revenge for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa before the final group stage match against Uruguay ended up being a sorrowful repeat.

The 20th-minute spot kick was missed by Dede, a repeat of what led to the Stars’ defeat in 2010.

Ghana’s dominance in the game turned to the Uruguayan side, who then utilised it to walk ahead with two goals in the first half, a goal that was left unchanged as the West African side lost morale and further exited the tournament.
