Ghana’s 3-2 defeat to Portugal has caused a stir with many believing the stars were cheated.

Gabby Otchere Darko, a leading member of the ruling NPP has lamented that the Video Assistant Referees (VAR) was deliberately ignored by the referee in the contentious penalty awarded to Portugal leaving room for cheating.

In a tweet on Friday, November 25, Gabby argued that the first penalty scored by Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t clear, just as he believes the last goal was offside.

“When Qatar played Ecuador, VAR worked overtime. When Ghana Black Stars played Ronaldo's Portugal, VAR was notably on leave. First, the penalty that never was and an offside goal that was ruled good,” he wrote.

But, according to Gabby, “The boys are motivated now more than ever to correct the injustice. FIFA World Cup.”
