Ghana President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has indicated that he is proud of the performance of the Black Stars despite losing to their Portuguese opponent in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Ghana senior male national team this evening faced off with the Portuguese in a Group H encounter of the ongoing World Cup in Qatar.

Although the Black Stars will put up a good fight to force the first half of the game to end in a goalless draw, Portugal came out tops in the second half after a five-goal thriller to secure a 3-2 win at the end of the contest.

In a post on social media after the game, Ghana President Nana Akufo-Addo praised the Black Stars for putting up a good performance.

“Gutsy performance by the Ghana Black Stars in today’s match against Portugal. Very proud of the entire team. They live to fight another day, & have shown they have what it takes to mix it up against any team in the tournament. Looking forward to the next game against South Korea,” the Ghana president said on Twitter.

Ghana will return to action on Monday, November 28, in another tough match against South Korea.

The Black Stars must win to stay in contention for qualification to the knockout stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
