Ghanaian and Crystal Palace forward, Jordan Ayew has shared an emotional experience of his life about the COVID-19 pandemic.

He asserted that he became helpless and started realizing how important it is for one to be with their parents in trying times.

Speaking on SuperSports, the Crystal Palace forward intimated that he likes spending time with his father, Abedi Ayew Pele, even though that is seasonal.

"It was during COVID that I realized how important my parents were to me. How I missed them. It even affected my performance because I was a sad person. I couldn't see my parents, aunts, uncles, and friends back home. I wasn't a happy person and it affected me.

“I like to spend time with my parents. I like to spend time with my parents because I feel like I left home very early and didn't have time to spend with them. I like to spend time with my dad because he doesn't like travelling. He's only been here once when I was signing my deal for Crystal Palace,” he told SuperSport.

Jordan claims that the pandemic's loneliness inspired him to spend more time with his family, particularly his parents.

“My mom comes a maximum of twice every season. I really like to spend time with them. When COVID happened it made me realize a few things and I promised myself that I will make sure I will really spend time with my family,” he said.
