The playing body of Nigeria's Super Falconets of Nigeria have been left stranded in Turkey as the girls were made to sleep on the airport's floor days after crashing out of the 2022 Under 20 Women's World Cup.

Falconets won all three Group C matches to earn a maximum of 9 points in the ongoing tournament in Costa Rica.

However, the team exited the tournament after losing 2-0 to the Netherlands in the quarterfinals.

According to multiple reports, Super Falconets left Costa Rica on Monday, 22 August, at 6:30 am and were pictured sleeping on the bare floor and chairs at the Istanbul Airport after staying in one spot for 24 hours.

The reports added that the Nigerian girls don't have a transit visa and they cannot be allowed to move into Istanbul and the only choice was for them to remain at the airport.

Also, it was reported that the Super Falconets are yet to get their bonuses for featuring at the World Cup from the Nigerian Football Federation chiefs.
