Asante Kotoko: Management to hold meeting with 'wantaway' coach Prosper Narteh Ogum today - Reports

The management of Asante Kotoko, led by Nana Yaw Amponsah will hold a meeting with wantaway coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum today, the local media have reported.

The 44-year-old trainer has communicated his decision to leave his role as the head coach of the side having led the side to win the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title.

During a meeting with the technical team of the Board of Directors, Narteh Ogum informed the board he is leaving his role due to how he has been treated by the management in less than 10 months in charge.

Narteh Ogum's decision to leave his role is, however, yet to be made public.

However, the playing body of Asante Kotoko and the management team who are in Accra for their pre-season before they fly out of the country to Turkey this weekend to continue their pre-season will hold a meeting with the Black Galaxies assistant manager where the final decision will be taken.

The administrative manager of the club, Emmanuel Dasoberi, speaking to Graphic Sports last month said Narteh Ogum's decision to leave the club is irreversible.

However, former Burkina Faso head coach, Kamou Malo, has been linked to the vacant job ahead of the new 2022/23 Ghana football season.

Prosper Narteh Ogum joined Asante Kotoko before the start of the 2021/22 Ghana football season on a two-year deal from West African Football Academy [WAFA].

Meanwhile, Kotoko have been paired with Burkinabe side, Rail Club de Kadiogo in the preliminary round of the 2022/23 CAF Champions League.
