The Visco walking club has honored its earlier promise of sending the launch of its T-Shirt named LET'S WALK to all the regions of the country by moving to the Western region after the Central regional launch. The next stop of the exercise is expected to be in the Ashanti regional capital Kumasi. The theme for this event is LET'S WALK which is a borrowed concept from the IAAF image building for the sport was brought up by Susana Feitor of Portugal during the IAAF Race walking challenge series. The club thought it wise to use LET'S WALK as its theme because it falls in line with its vision of developing the sport at all stages.The earlier launch of the T-Shirt at Cape Coast and Takoradi saw a great patronage by people from all walks of life. It could be recalled that the launch of the Central region was held on the 4th March 2005, whereas that of the Western region was held over the weekend. LET'S WALK Western region was climaxed with a competition from which four walkers; Isaac Obeng, Kwesi Atta as well as Vincent Kojo a twelve year old boy and Priscilla Annan who were respectively selected for the youngest and female walkers, are to be sponsored by the Visco walking club to take part in LET'S WALK Ashanti region on Saturday the 19th of March 2005.The walk is scheduled to take place at the Kumasi sports stadium. The 10km walk will commence at exactly 6:00 a.m.The 'T-shirt would be sold for an amount of 30,000 and 50,000 respectively. The aged, overweighed and youngest walkers and potential race walkers would be rewarded accordingly with cash and products from Elephant Ointment, Energizer, Voltic and Parleys Biscuit. All those who are interested in taking part in the walk are advised to register with the various regional sports council's athletics coach with an amount of 15,000.With this,'T'shirts would be provided for all competitors.
