2021/22 GPL Week 33: Ashgold come from behind to defeat Bechem Utd 2-1

Ashanti Gold SC displayed a good fighting spirit on Sunday afternoon as the team came from behind to beat Bechem United 2-1 in the Ghana Premier League.

The Miners today hosted the Hunters at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium in a game serving as a matchday 33 encounter of the 2021/22 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.

Courtesy of a slow start to the first half, the home team trailed after just 10 minutes following a good team move from Bechem United which resulted in Emmanuel Avornyo finding the back of the Ashanti Gold SC net.

Regrouping and pushing to get back into the game, the hosts could not find a breakthrough and went into the break losing 1-0.

Eventually, in the final minutes of the second half, the efforts of Ashanti Gold SC paid off.

First, John Josiah Andoh equalised in the 87^th minute to restore parity for the home team.

Later in injury time, captain Richard Osei Agyemang grabbed the crucial second goal to seal a hard-fought 2-1 win for Ashanti Gold SC at full time.
