Former Ghanaian midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu says he still harbor hope of returning to the former side, Asante Kotoko.

The former U-20 World Cup winner has been clubless since last year.

But according to Badu, he is keen on playing in the Ghana Premier League with his destination being Kotoko because he has a soft spot for the Porcupine Warriors.

“I still have an eye coming home to play in the Ghana Premier League," he told Angel TV.

"Everybody knows the soft spot I have for Asante Kotoko and I don’t hide it anywhere, It will be an option but whoever comes with a great deal, I will take it up but the first option will always be Asante Kotoko," he added.

Agyemang-Badu scored Black Satellites' last penalty kick to win Ghana their first-ever FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt in 2009, beating Brazil 4-2 on penalties.

The former Berekum Arsenal had a successful career in Europe playing for Udinese, where he spent 10 years with the Italian Serie A, Bursaspor in the Turkish League, and Veron in Italy among others.

He last played for Chinese Super League side Quingdao in 2021 and also made 78 appearances for the Black Stars and scored 11 goals between 2008 and 2017.
