2021/22 GPL Week 27: Legon Cities push Elmina Sharks towards relegation with 2-0 win

Legon Cities FC have made escaping relegation almost impossible for Elmina Sharks after beating the side 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.

The team from Elmina has been the worst in the Ghanaian top-flight league since the 2021/22 campaign commenced last year.

As a result, it is no surprise that the team sits bottom of the Ghana Premier League table and heading to relegation.

Today at the El-Wak Sports Stadium, Elmina Sharks played as a guest to in-form Legon Cities FC to try and secure three big points to give themselves some bit of hope.

Unfortunately, the team’s performance fell short once again. Legon Cities on the back of that confidence-boosting win against Asante Kotoko last weekend has today brushed aside Sharks as well.

In-form attackers Michael Otuo and Hans Kwofie netted the goals once again for Legon Cities FC today to propel the side to merit full marks at the end of an exciting 90 minutes of football.

The result means Elmina Sharks are another step closer to being relegated from the Ghana Premier League to the National Division One League.
