Netball team to commence training for international assignment

Accra, Sept 18, GNA - The Netball Association of Ghana has invited 30 players for camping at the Kaneshie Sports Complex on Friday, September 30. The two-day intensive training exercise would result in the selection of 18 players to form a nucleus of the national team for some pending international matches.

A statement signed by Mr Eddy Nikoi, Chairman of the Association copied to the GNA Sports said the selected players for the exercise would undergo a month long training camp to prepare adequately before the international assignment.

The players selected for Team A; are Humu Sofo (Volta Region), Abiba Issaka, Dorothy Bekoe, Ayishatu Osumanu, Veronica Lanuel, Bernice Taylor, Cynthia Addy and Shafatu Karim from the Greater Accra Region, Wakibitu Seidu, Charity Sakodie and Rabiaatu Musah from the Eastern Region and Doris Ntiful and Dorcas Ayipey from Western Region. Those invited for Team B are Rachel Afriyie from the Ashanti Region, Patience Adjei, Rabiatu Abdelah, Eunice Atakli, Comfort Quarcoo, Helena Adjei, Magdalene Togbui and Sylvia Amankwah from the Greater Accra Region, Priscilla Johnson from the Eastern Region, Yayra Kluboito, Veronica Obeng and Rachel Ninson from the Western Region, Ellen Gbenna, Fatima Amadu, Fati Suraji and Magdalene Bentil from the Central Region.

The third team invited from the training colleges are Freda Amoako-Atta, Joyce Kotey, Patricia Mum, Grace Arthur, Hameedatu Karim, Adowa Hanson, Georgina Adjei, Juanita Komlah, Hannah Abban and Shirley Okae-Asare.
