The Chief Executive of Engineers and Planners, Ibrahim Mahama has paid three months salary arrears of the Real Tamale United (RTU) players in Tamale yesterday, April 6, 2022.

This was disclosed by a personal assistant to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, Rafiq Mahama in a Facebook post where he shared a group picture with the players.

"Earlier today, on behalf of my Boss, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, Chief Alhassan Andani and Dr. Nashiru Issahaku, I was in Tamale to interact with the players of Real Tamale United and also to settle their salary arrears. The three months salary arrears for the thirty eight (38) registered players was paid to them today", he wrote.

Mr. Rafiq Mahama added, "The players who displayed good sportsmanship notwithstanding the challenges they went through in the last three months, were happy and promised to win more matches in order to keep the team in a good position on the league table."

According to Mr. Rafiq, the Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Shani Alhassan Saibu was happy about the gesture and expressed gratitude to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama and all involve for coming to the aide of the team.

Commenting on the gesture, Tamale based Zaa TV's Sports Presenter, Mukadi Halid described it as "a great motivation and inspiration" from Mr. Mahama.

He said the North is hoping to see more from the players in return.

The Engineers and Planners CEO has been supporting the football club in different ways to keep the team afloat.
