Ho, July 30, GNA - This year's National Cycling competition dubbed "La Route de Ho, 2004" would be staged in the Volta Regional capital, Ho, on September 11, this year over a distance of 80 kilometres. Mr Paul Nutsugah on behalf of the Volta Regional Sports Development Officer, Mr Clemence Doe in a Press Release copied to the GNA Sports said over 120 cyclists are expected to participate in the event.

Accordingly the Volta Regional Cycling Association and the National Sports Council (NSC) would from Saturday August 7, organise mock cycling races in the 12 districts of the Region to select 10 best male and female cyclists from each District for an Inter-Districts competition between August 28 and 31.

The regional team of 10 cyclists made up of five cyclists each for the men and women groups would thereafter be camped from September 6 to 10 to prepare for the national event.Meanwhile the release has requested all interested participants in the

Ho District to register at the Ho Sports Stadium or with Mr Joseph P. Appoh of the Volta Star FM between August 2nd and 5th.
