England draw with Ghana in a polo match

Accra, Mar.7, GNA - The Bucks Polo Club of England played a determined game to hold Accra Polo Club of Ghana to a 4-4 drawn game in an international Independence Day Polo match played at the Accra Polo Grounds on Saturday.

Displaying a fierce ride-off and stupendous stick work, Accra Polo took a commanding 4-0 lead in the first three Chukkas through goals by skipper Kenneth Quartey, Ziad Yamak(two)and Karim Ashkar before David Wildridge scored one for the visitors.

The visitors, however, redoubled their efforts in the final Chukka and scored three quick goals through Edwin Richards (two)and Fergus Prentice to level up the scores.

La Palm Atlantic Casino and Sethi Brothers jointly sponsored the competition.

Mr Wintson Coetzer, Chief Executive Officer of La Palm Atlantic Casino said his company as a corporate responsibility would continue to contribute to the development of the lesser-known sport.
