Accra, Jan.30, GNA - The National Sports Council has mounted security cameras at vantage points at the Accra Sports Stadium to monitor behaviour of spectators during football matches.

The Release reminded the general public and especially vehicle owners that the Independence Square has been designated as a Car Park for vehicles during sporting activities at the Accra Sports Stadium. It also reminded sports fans who will patronize the Accra Hearts of Oak verses Kumasi Asante Kotoko encounter in the Coca Cola Top Four Football match on Sunday to park their vehicles at the Independence square..

Mr Issakah said the measure is to ensure that the stadium area decongested to allow free movement of vehicles as well as spectators with a token fee of 3,000 cedis to be charged by vehicle.

The release cautioned that any vehicle found parked at unauthorized areas will be towed away and offenders made to pay a fine before their vehicles will be released.

It also announced that a task force made up of the Police Motor Traffic Unit and Accra Metro guards has been set up to ensure the success of the exercise.

Roadblocks and crash barriers will also be mounted at various points to assist in the exercise and motorists advised to be cautious and comply with the directives.
