A rampant performance from Ashanti Gold SC on Sunday afternoon saw the team hammering Elmina Sharks 4-1 in the Ghana Premier League.
Nicknamed the Miners, the team today played host to Sharks at the Len Clay Sports Stadium in a game serving as a matchday 13 encounter of the 2021/22 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.
Following a good start to the game, the home team eventually led at half time by two goals courtesy of a fantastic strike from Elijah Addai in the 35th minute and an equalizer from Yaw Annor three minutes before the break.
After recess, the struggling Elmina Sharks fought to come back into the game but it turned from bad to worse for the side when Ashgold SC attacker Yaw Annor decided to cause trouble with his fantastic runs.
The exciting attacking midfielder scored a brace in the last 20 minutes to seal a massive 4-0 win for the Miners that has now given the team a boost for top four.
Unfortunately, today’s defeat leaves Elmina Sharks rotted at the bottom of the Ghana Premier League standings.
