GMC wins first aid competition

Bogoso (W/R), Oct. 12, GNA - Ghana Manganese Company (GMC) emerged champions of this year's zone one First Aid Competition held at Bogoso Gold Limited (BGL) mine site at Bogoso over the weekend.
GMC scored 88.5 points followed by Goldfields Ghana Limited (GFGL) with 87.75 points, Abosso Goldfields Limited (AGL) 87.25 points and BGL 84.75 points.
GMC and AGBL will represent the zone in the National First Aid competition slated for November 29, this year, at Obuasi.
In an address read on her behalf, Ms Joyce Aryee (formerly Mrs Joyce Wereko-Brobbey), Chief Executive of Chamber of Mines, calls for the need to link the industry's performance with the health and safety of employees as well as environment and impact on communities.
