Accra, Sept.17, GNA- Ghana would participate in next year's Olympic games to be staged in Athens, Greece, President John Agyekum Kufuor said in Accra on Wednesday.
"Ghana will definitely be there to participate", President Kufuor said when he received the credentials of Mr Constantine Glova, Greece Ambassador to Ghana at the Castle, Osu.
He said Greece in addition to hosting the games was also famous for shipping, fishing, tourism and marine engineering and efforts would be made for the various sector ministries to liase with the Ambassador for the needed assistance and improvement for the mutual benefits of both countries.
Mr Glova said Greece looked up for co-operation in the culture and sports sectors and urged Ghana to participate in next year's Olympic games.
He commended ECOWAS under the leadership of President Kufuor in its efforts to maintain peace and stability within the Sub-Region and pledged the support of Greece to sustain the peace. 17, Sept 03.
