Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Richard Attah has apologised to their supporters of the club after their disappointing defeat against JS Saoura in the CAF Confederations Cup playoffs.

The reigning Ghana Premier League champions were hoping to make it to the group phase of the competition after recording a 2-0 win in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium.

However, the Phobians were annihilated by 4-0 last Sunday at the Stade 20 Août 1955 in Bêchar by the Eagles who have now cruised into the group stages in the return leg in Algiers.

The 26-year-old who missed the game due to illness took to social media to apologize to the fan base of the club.

"We have made terrible mistakes that have hurt the fans that cared about us the most and we are terribly sorry," Attah wrote on Facebook.

"We are deeply ashamed of our terrible performance and our actions. Please and please, we are deeply sorry." He concluded.

The 'Phobians' are expected back in the country by the close of the week to continue with the rest of their matches in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season where they are yet to record a win.
