Boxing Emmanuel Amos arrives in Ghana to face Sheriff Quaye for WBO Africa Lightweight title

Emmanuel Amos, the Tanzanian opponent of Ghana's Sheriff 'One Time' Quaye has arrived in Accra for the bout on Friday, 10 December 2021 for the WBO Africa lightweight title fight at the Royal Dede Golden Beach Resort, Korle-Gonno.

Amos and his trainer were welcomed by boxing officials, Solomon Otoo, Dauda Fuseini, Mustapha Nettey and George Lamptey, President of the Ghana Boxing Federation.

Emmanuel Amos told newsmen at the Kotoka International airport that he is well ready to take on Sheriff Quaye from Ghana for the WBO Lightweight African championship, and not here to joke.

Sherrif Quaye has also disclosed that he is not going to let the opportunity down as Ghana boxing need more champions. His coach, Carl Lokko assured boxing fans to see an improved Quaye as he has learnt his lessons after losing the National title to Michael Ansah.

In other supporting bouts on the bill, George Krampah will face Mustapha Appiah in a Featherweight contest.

Waidi Usman takes on Felix Ajom in a Super Featherweight contest, while Emmanuel Quartey meets Amadu Seidu in a Super Lightweight contest.

Zakaria Salifu will clash with Richard Egowa in a Light heavyweight fray.

WBO Africa Featherweight champion, John Laryea will be in action against Felix Okine in a Featherweight contest, just as Sensational Moses Adjei Selvi, Felix Nunoo, Jacob Tetteh Laryea and Daniel Gosh whose opponents are yet to be named.

The event dubbed ‘The Renaissance’ put together by Swavy Blu and Bronx Boxing Promotions will see female boxers in the square ring as Peal Adjetey fights Blessing Bukola in a Flyweight contest and Geraldine Larley Lartey against Abigail Quaye.
