At Sunyani, Goalkeeper Michael Abu of Real Tamale United (RTU) put up a good performance to enable his side share honours in a goalless game with Brong-Ahafo United in their match played at the Sunyani Coronation Park. B.A. United who a forthnight ago suffered a humiliating 1-3 home defeat at the hands of visiting Dansoman-based Liberty Professionals this time made sure they did not disappoint their teeming supporters and in fact played their hearts out and should have won the day, but goalkeeper Abu stood between them and victory.
After Abass Iddrisu of RTU had missed a goal-scoring chance in the second minute of the commencement of the match through a feeble shot in B.A.'s vital area, the homesters went all out and forced their opponents to play a defensive game.
Succeeding goal attempts in the fifth, seventh, 13th, 19th, 22nd and 24th by Fuseini Adams, Kwadwo Owusu, Massawudu Yahaya, Charles Ampiah, Usman Sakora, Kwasi Boateng and Frank Agyei were beautifully thwarted by goalkeeper Abu.
FIFA Referee Mike Amedior of Kumasi flagged Baba Issah of RTU a yellow card for a bookable offence in the 34th minute but that was nothing to deter the visitors who had done everything possible to score without success till the end of the first half.
On resumption Sakora surprisingly squandered two goal chances in the 48th and 52nd minutes, which should have opened the flood-gates for the Sunyani boys. RTU brought in Alhassan Weah for Abass Iddrisu while B.A. United also brought in Justice Opoku for Massawudu Yahaya and Angelo Dedon for Frank Agyei but the game remained a ding-dong affair till the final Whistle to a barren result.
At Berekum, visiting Power F/C whipped home team Arsenals 2-0, after a scoreless first half of hectic exchanges between the two sides.
