The Ghana Handball Association has selected eighteen players to begin a non-residential training from Friday June 20 at the Prisons Sports Complex.

The training, which is to keep the players in shape, forms part of the teams' preparation towards their participation in this year's All African Games billed for Abuja, Nigeria, between October 4th and 18th.

According to information gathered by the GNA Sports, the team would participate in a maiden Franco-West African handball tourney slated for Accra from July 25-27, which would be sponsored by the foreign affairs division of the French embassy as part of the team's preparation.

It would be recalled that the Ghanaians placed third in the 7th edition of the competition held in South Africa last year after having finished as champions in their zone during the qualifying series.

The selected players are Richard Ankrah, Apeu Tennor, Daniel Quarcoo, Moses Quartey, Salifu Mahama, Ebenezer Mensah, Alex Asare, Osei Yaw Christian and Samuel Agyare.

The others include Isaac Bampoe, Robert Ankrah, Anthony Odametey, Patrick Amanfi, Rufia Bukari, Jude Bonney, Eugene Ahoni, Joseph Quaye and Joseph Cudjoe.
