GCA selects 14 into camping

The Ghana Cycling Association (GCA) has selected 14 cyclist to start camping in preparation for the All Africa Games scheduled for Abuja Nigeria, in October.

The players invited for the camping are skipper Joseph Annang (Gutten club), John Zomelo, Henry Djangmah (River Park), Francis Tetteh, Rudolph Mensah and Seth Asare (City Migro).

Others are Martey Hammond, William Afful (Fire Branch) and Newton Kofi (Nippon).

The rest are Emmanuel Wayo, Aryitey Akoto (All Stars), Richard Mawuko (River Park), Adnan Mohamed (River Park, Kumasi) and Osman Amin (Tamale).

According to the programme, the cyclist would be taken through vigorous training exercises in road racing, individual time trials and sprint racing over a period of nine days to complete the first phase of their preparation.

They would also be taken through physical training and lectures intermittently as part of the preparation.
