Two hundred vie for Club Beer trophy

More than 200 amateur and professional golfers are expected to vie for honours in this year's Club Beer Open Golf Championship scheduled for the Achimota Golf Course in Accra from 20 – 22 December.

Geoff Fisher, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club said in Accra on Tuesday, that the three-day scratch competition which is open to all golf clubs throughout the country, is being sponsored by Accra Brewery Limited (ABL).

Among an array of golfers who had signed up for the event from Achimota are Alfred Neequaye, Joseph Odei, Bob Evans, J.O. Amoako, Mawuli Ababio, Yaw Assah-Sam and John Sam. The professionals will engage in a hectic 54-hole event starting from Thursday, December 19.

Victor Brave-Mensah, Yao Daniels, John Dormon, Emos Korblah and Nii Yaw Badu have all declared their intention of winning the professionals category. Raymond Stark, Managing Director of ABL is the guest of honour.
